Here I am Lord: responding to God's call to meet neighbours of
other faiths.
At the Methodist Mission, Huddersfield; Saturday October 2nd,
10.30-4.00 costing just £5, which includes lunch. This conference arranged
by CRC's Inter-faith task group is in partnership with Churches Together in
England, Bradford Churches for Dialogue and Diversity, Livability and Kirklees
Faith Forum, featuring Celia Blackden (CTE) on "friendship and exchange", Helen
Reid (BCDD) on "can a good neighbour be an evangelist", and will include a visit
and lunch in a local gurdwara, temple or mosque. This is to resource churches
in their interfaith work, aimed at lay people and clergy. We especially invite
people who don't yet have inter faith experience. Those who do have such
experience are also welcome! Download further details

New Commission members required.
It’s that time of the year when we are
looking for suitable candidates to become one of our Commissioners. There are 25
members who serve for a term of three years, and in the last 12 months, four
people have stepped down. The CRC is committed to strengthening the breadth and
balance of representation on the Commission. We need people concerned to see
the Church reaching out in communities who are keen to influence the public
agenda and political life. The Commission meetings are every quarter, although
membership also gives an opportunity to take a greater part in CRC work and we
especially value having members who are prepared to commit time and help shape
this organisation at this time. We invite you to consider whether you could
apply to be a member of the Churches Regional Commission. If you would like
further information, please contact Janet Bryer at CRC. The deadline for
applications is 31 October 2010. Applications received will be submitted to a
meeting of the Regional Church Leaders Reference Group and applicants will be
informed of their decision by the end of November. Application forms can be
