Faith Matters offers training, consultancy and organisational development to create greater equality in the workplace and access to services; create better understanding between people of faith or of no faith and challenge myths and stereotypes through meaningful engagement.

 Faith Matters Seminars

A practical half-day or whole day seminar looking at: why it is important to know about the region’s faith communities; key implications of the new diversity legislation; examples of good practice; and action steps for the future.

The seminar aims to:

 

§         Look at the major faith communities of the Yorkshire and Humber region and the contributions they make in society

§         Offer real-life examples of the differences between faith, religion, spirituality, race, ethnicity and culture, and the ways in which we can use this awareness in our daily lives

§         Encourage and inspire delegates to use and share the information and resources contained in the Religious Literacy guide

§         Provide a working knowledge of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003.

Three trainers are drawn from an experienced multi-faith team. Suitable for all who wish to develop their awareness of different faith traditions, and build stronger working relationships with people from different faith backgrounds.

The Faith Matters and Living Islam seminars are available as an in-house training option at a time and location convenient to you. Your organisation benefits from:

 

 

A recommended maximum of 30 participants will be led by 3 trainers drawn from the multi-faith training team.

Experts in faith and organisational development work closely with the organisation towards diversity and equality from an initial audit to support for change and positive development incorporating systems, people and processes.

The ‘Living Islam’ day-course will help you find the answers to these and many other questions, given by Muslims living in Yorkshire and Humber. The course runs 9.30 a.m.-4.00 p.m. and is available to individuals or as an in-house option for organisations.
