Nov 1998

CRC founded by Revd Dr Julian Cummins and the Very Revd George Nairn Briggs.

1999

Hilary Willmer takes Faith seat on Yorkshire and Humber Assembly.

Feb 2002

CRC publishes its five year corporate plan.

Apr 2002

CRC receives major direct funding from Yorkshire Forward.

Apr 2002

Launch of the North Yorkshire Tourism Initiative - 275 churches sign up.

May 2002

CRC Board formed to manage the business side of CRC.

Jun 2002

Julian Cummins takes Faith seat on Yorkshire and Humber Assembly.

Aug 2002

Revd Graham Brownlee takes up post of Chief Executive.

Sep 2002

Revd Liz Carnelley appointed Policy Officer.

Nov 2002

CRC publishes Angels and Advocates, its first ground-breaking report into church social action.

Feb 2003

CRC inform Government that there is a majority support for a referendum on an elected assembly from the church community following consultation with church leaders in Yorkshire and the Humber.

May 2003

First Regional Development Co-ordinator for the West Yorkshire Africa-Caribbean Council of Churches appointed in partnership with CRC.

Oct 2003

CRC publish Sowing the Seed: church and rural renaissance in Yorkshire and the Humber, a sister report to Angels and Advocates.

Nov 2003

CRC publish the first Keynote report entitled Sticking Together, Community Cohesion: a response to the debate.

Dec 2003

CRC appoint Rural Development Officer to pilot rural development in Wensleydale, Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.

Jan 2004

William Hague meets Rural Development Officer in Leyburn to highlight importance of buying local produce

Open events held across region to discuss the idea of the Faiths Forum for the region

Briefing papers on political extremism and destitute asylum seekers published to coincide with local elections

Launch by Stephen Twigg MP of RAISE guidebook on increasing educational achievement in Pakistani and Kashmiri students

CRC host first region wide, multi-agency event to curb exploitation of the poor and financial exclusion

CRC's annual convention brings Jim Wallis, international spokesperson on faith, poverty and social justice, to speak to delegates
