Inter-faith
CRC
actively encourage inter-faith working to act in partnership in our region to
answer practical questions and promote a more cohesive society. Employers, local
authorities, policy makers and community groups must all understand faith so
that they can act fairly and effectively.
The
CRC interfaith task group has enabled the following initiatives:

The
Yorkshire and Humber Faiths Forum was launched in
December 2005 following extensive research and consultation by CRC in
partnership with the Yorkshire and Humber Assembly

Understanding Faiths: a practical guide to working with faith communities
was jointly published by CRC and the Yorkshire and Humber Faiths Forum in
2007. Copies, priced £5.00 each, may be ordered from
CRC.

The
Faith Matters consultancy and training programme
promotes greater awareness and understanding of religion and belief, and
relevant diversity legislation.

Yorkshire and Humber region. Contact the

A
seminar held in Leeds in 2006 on interfaith activities with speakers from the
St Philip’s centre in Leeds as well as those involved in interfaith work in
our region.
The
Interfaith task group is now focusing on resourcing Christians for interfaith
engagement. A conference is planned on this topic in 2010. The chair of the
group in the Revd. Neil Bishop who works for a community project in Darnall,
Sheffield.
