Tourism

CRC aims to increase the use of churches as cultural, spiritual and heritage resources thereby making economic contributions to the region’s tourism industry. CRC have supported activities in North Yorkshire and the East Riding and have ensured a significant role in the development of church tourism.

• The North Yorkshire Tourism Initiative was a pilot project in partnership with the Yorkshire Tourist Board with 224 churches actively participating;
• Workshops and an annual conference introduce practical topics for church tourism;
• Funding enables interpretation projects so that churches can have a more effective welcome.
